All-Electric Powertrain

The all-electric powertrain of the EV6 promotes both hearty power and efficient energy consumption. Its permanent magnet synchronous motor engine type and lithium-ion polymer battery type combine to offer upwards of 167 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. That EV motor power translates into terrific performance, with a 373 km driving range and combined energy consumption of 2.0 Le/100 km (1.7 Le/100 km in the city and 2.4 Le/100 km on the highway). This is an EV ready for all situations, featuring available all-wheel drive and zero emissions from its powerhouse.

Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform

The electric features of the EV6 aren’t just directly related to the EV additions, but also what trickles down from these attributes into other areas of the vehicle. The 2022 EV6 was built with Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform, where previously vehicles were designed with the engine first in mind, now without that worry, Kia has designed around passenger and cargo space first. The saved space from the engine helps to open up a more spacious interior for everybody to not only stretch out in but also pack all the gear needed.

Charging

A high-speed 800V multi-charging system finds itself onboard the EV6, allowing you to charge this crossover fast. How fast? How about getting in a quick charge for 4.5 minutes to get 100 km of range? You can easily go from 10% to 80% of a charge in just under 18 minutes (350 kW). This is all done on the Level 3 DC Fast Charge, with additional Level 1 (120V) and Level 2 (240V) charging for slower charging from lesser power.

Vehicle-to-Load Power Supply

The Kia EV6 will power up your life, literally. When you’re not using the EV6 as your favourite all-electric vehicle on the road, it can translate that power to your event on hand. Whether you’re out camping, at a work site or want to get the party started, its available vehicle-to-load feature is able to provide up to 1,900 watts of AC power. Eco-Friendly Heat Pump

We all know the cold weather too well living here in Mississauga, but the Kia engineers know this as well, keeping that in mind when creating the EV6. While it’s true that cold winter temperatures can contribute to a lesser range for EVs, Kia and the EV6 have remedied this with an eco-friendly heat pump. This onboard heat pump recycles heat that is produced from the vehicle’s electronic components and uses it to regulate the temperature of the battery pack, all in service of adding range to the EV6 and recycling produced heat.
